Christopher Zorich proved that dreams can come true. A poor kid from Chicago, Zorich won a football scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where he excelled as a defensive lineman for the Fighting Irish. Over the course of his college career he was a two-time All-American and won several other honors, among them the Vince Lombardi Award in 1990, the Orange Bowl MVP Award in 1990 and a place on College Football's All-Century Team (in 2000). However, the highlight of Zorich's collegiate days was the National Championship that Notre Dame won in 1988. As a pro, Zorich played for the Chicago Bulls and Washington Redskins. Upon his retirement in 1997, Zorich returned to Notre Dame to study at their respected Law School. Today, he is a respected lawyer, chairman of The Christopher Zorich Foundation, a charitable organization in Chicago, where Zorich still lives.
